Our fitness program offers exercises to shape and tone your body, and burn fat, facilitating your weight loss, and helping to build up your self-esteem.
Our biggest challenge is to promote a life style change, by stimulating physical conditioning, always taking in consideration the personal fitness level. Our program includes two outdoor activities during the morning – at 9 am beach hike and at11 am water aerobics; and in the afternoon, from 5 to 7 pm, we offer varied group classes at the exercise room, and circuit training workouts at our fully equipped fitness room.
Those with the best frequency rate participate in a lottery to win 01 Lymphatic Drainage Massage or 01 relaxation bath to be enjoyed at the last day of his/her stay. So, come join in! The biggest challenge you must overcome is your own resistance. We look forward to help you overcome your limits!
At The Inn & Spa Colonial Med you will find several activities in which you may participate. After an initial assessment, we will recommend you the right fitness plan for you.
We recommend the use of bathing suit while doing water aerobics and receiving body treatments or enjoying our relaxation bath. A bathrobe is also advisable.

STRETCH –Stretching positions performed both during warm up to increase flexibility and range of motion, and to promote muscular relaxation. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
GUIDED BEACH HYKE AND STRETCH: Mondays to Fridays at 9 am (40 minutes long). There are two types: Intense Hike - walking with the water at knee level; and Light Hike, walking on the sand, wearing tennis shoes.
WATER AEROBICS IN OUTDOORS HEATED POOL: Aerobic non-impact class that provides great results, indicated for everyone.
LOCALIZED TRAINING WATER AEROBICS – In this class, you will perform higher intensity localized exercises. The goal is to improve local muscle strength in general.
AERO SPA WITH STEP – Aerobic circuit training session with continuous exercises divided by stations. The stations might be: step, intense walking at the treadmill; cycling (stationary cycle); and stair-climbing (transport). The step aerobic training is recommended for people with good physical fitness, since it’s a 15 min sequence at a moderate or intense rhythm depending on personal performance.
AERO SPA WITH JUMP – Aerobic circuit training session with a series of continuous exercises divided by stations. Example of a sequence might be: jumping, running or jogging at the treadmill; stationary bicycle, and transport. Classes with jump are recommended for people with excellent physical fitness, since it’s a 15 min sequence at a moderate or intense rhythm depending on personal performance.
GAP – Localized exercises class that works the following muscle groups: gluteus, abs and legs.
LOCAL CIRCUIT: Strength training class that focuses on localized muscle work-outs. Each station of the circuit emphasizes a specific muscle group. It may be combined with aerobic exercises.
SUPER LOCAL: High intensity localized exercises class. Its main goal is to improve muscle tone. An excellent calorie burning activity. (Weigh training specific for each person).
STEP AEROBICS: Low impact intense workout that involves stepping up and down on an adjustable platform. It may be choreographed or not. It improves lower body muscular strength, stimulates motor coordination and agility, and also burns a lot of calories.
